Contributions to West Indian Herpetology pays tribute to Albert Schwartz (1923-1992), who published 195 papers dealing with the West Indian herpetofauna and described more new taxa than anyone who has worked in the area. The titles provides a list of his publications, followed by contributions based on a 1994 symposium. A history, with annotated checklist and colour plates, is followed by sections on evolution, systematics, and biogeography; ecology and behavior; and conservation. Brief descriptions in English, Spanish, and French are given for nine additional research projects not covered in the main contributions.
